Our friend from Kurdamir, Oktay Zeynalov, 4J3DF, wrote to the FRS with the following proposal:
“A resident of Kurdamir, Hero of the Soviet Union Mamish Abdullayeva, was drafted into the Army in 1942 and died a heroic death on March 24, 1945. In honor of the memory of the Hero, I ask you to allow work by special call sign on the holiday of May 9″
This proposal by Oktay Zeynalov was supported by the Radiosport Federation and in the future our appeal will be sent to the Ministry of Communications for the issuance of such a call sign.
At the same time, the FRS invites all interested amateurs to take the initiative and choose the name of one of the Heroes in order to further participate in the holidays of activity under special call signs and, thus, promote the exploits of our fellow countrymen on the air.
In addition, we consider it possible to organize the printing of QSL cards by forming, for example, five athletes and printing a separate card for them for 5 special call signs. In this case, with a quantity of 1000 pieces, everything will be divided into 5 parts of 200 pieces and each will pay 1/5 of the total cost.
We ask you to decide in a short time (1 week) and inform us about your decision to work on the air and print cards for you.
